Since the 1800s, Florida’s conservation law enforcement officers have been hardworking protectors of Florida’s unique environment, spending long hours in the woods and waters of the state away from family and friends. These “Sentinels of Conservation” protect Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Resources and respond nationwide and within Florida to natural disasters.
The FWC is the largest Florida maritime law enforcement agency, the only law enforcement available in many of the more rural areas of Florida, and the first to respond to help those in need after a natural disaster. FWC officers responded to help Texans in need during Hurricane Harvey and were the first responders to provide aid to Floridians in need after Hurricane Irma hit the Keys.
